Dream Boat

The Dream Boat Fishing Challenge.
May-Craft 2300 CCX—it’s the one boat Fisherman Readers are dreaming about!

May-Craft Dream Boat

May-Craft Boats, Inc. is positioned on the pedestal as the Title Sponsor of the largest, most prestigious fishing contest from Maine to North Carolina—The Fisherman Magazine’s 2009 Dream Boat Fishing Challenge. The Challenge is a season long, region-wide, multi-saltwater species fishing contest in which Fisherman magazine subscribers compete to win a new May-Craft 2300CCX boat. The Grand Prize 2300CCX is powered by a Yamaha 15hp, 4-stroke outboard motor, and will come fully equipped with Lowrance marine electronics. Michael Caruso, publisher of The Fisherman, said of the contest: “The Fisherman Magazine’s Dream Boat Challenge is truly a special event in the world of sport fishing. It’s one in which anglers from the entire region compete against each other and completely focus on for the entire season—all because of the Grand Prize. Readers who weigh-in and register their catch have a chance to win an awesome fishing machine and be awarded with the ultimate bragging rights as well. For this reason, the grand prize boat can’t be just any boat. When the opportunity to work with May-Craft was presented we looked closely at the construction, materials, and design of the boats. After exploring these factors, we were amazed by what we found. The bottom line is: May-Craft boats perform extremely well on the water, and are laid out in a way that makes them functional for fishing. Furthermore, the boats have a durability that keeps them running solid for years. Fisherman Magazine is proud to be working with May-Craft and excited about awarding a reader with the 2300 CCX.”

How it works:

Anglers who subscribe to The Fisherman will enter eligible fish by weighing in their catch at an official weigh-in station any time between April and November. Weigh-in stations are comprised of over 300 participating tackle shops for the duration of the contest. For eight different species—Striped Bass, Bluefish, Weakfish, Mahi, Fluke, Blackfish, Sea Bass, and Black Drum—there are 10 positions, heaviest to lightest. The heaviest fish in each category receives 10 chances to be drawn as the grand prize winner at the end of the contest. The second heaviest fish in each category receives 9 chances to win. The third heaviest fish in each category receives 8 chances to win, and the pattern continues down to the 10th heaviest fish in each category. The person with the 10th heaviest fish in each category receives one chance to be drawn to win the boat. In the past, all 80 contestants have remained involved in the contest right up until the final drawing is done. From the pool of 80 finalists, only one Grand Prize Winner will be drawn to win the May-Craft! All 80 finalists and anglers with the heaviest fish in each category will win prizes. A secondary drawing will award one winner with a fishing trip of a lifetime to Alaska.
